Church Family,
I look forward to sharing worship with you on Sunday in our new online format. While we are physically distant, the spiritual connections we hold with God and each other will continue in the weeks ahead. We are still the church and we still need each other. I have been thankful to see so many of you reaching out to each other. If you haven’t yet, call someone when you think about them. Sit down and write a letter to someone who sits down the pew from you on Sundays. This type of connection will be a powerful spiritual practice reminding us that the Body of Christ is far from an hour on Sunday morning or an empty building.
At this time, we are taking things week by week. We are aware that many coming events will need to be rescheduled or cancelled. Be patient as we determine the best time to communicate all of the various changes ahead. As I shared with the staff online this past Wednesday, our top priority at this moment is to stay connected. Plans are currently going out to make sure each of us is contacted in the coming days. At the same time, classes and small groups will be encouraged to move to online formats. So many are working behind the scenes to continue our vital ministry while we aren’t together in person.
Should you have any need, please reach out to us through prayers@fumc-killeen.org. This address will be checked by myself and Bev Tuggle. You many also call the church office as the phone lines have been forwarded.
I encourage you all as we follow the guidance to be socially distant, wash our hands, and stay home if possible. Right now, these are the ways we will love each other. We will do this together.
Be patient.
Be kind.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Alan McGrath
