MCWD update on COVID-19

March 16, 2020

Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) is following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Minnesota Department of Health to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health and safety of its stakeholders and staff.

MCWD will continue its day-to-day work to protect and improve water resources. However, the District will be taking a number of precautions to avoid in-person contact while maintaining its key functions.

MCWD offices closed to public
MCWD's office will be closed to the public until at least March 30, 2020, while the District team conducts its work remotely.

All meetings and contacts will be conducted via e-mail, phone, or web conferencing. While the physical location of the work has changed, MCWD staff's commitment to excellent and prompt customer service has not. The District team will continue to be fully available during standard business hours.

E-mail is the preferred method of initial contact. View our staff directory for contact information. Use admin@minnehahacreek.org for general inquiries.

Submit permit information electronically
MCWD permitting staff will continue to receive and process permits normally, and continue to provide a high level of responsive customer service.

Permitting materials, questions, and comments should be submitted electronically while the MCWD office is closed to the public.

The most efficient contact point is permitting@minnehahacreek.org. If a specific point of contact is needed, reach out to Permitting Manager Tom Dietrich at tdietrich@minnehahacreek.org or 952-473-2855.

Gray's Bay dam operation continues
MCWD will continue to operate the Gray's Bay dam normally in order to manage flooding risk in Minnehaha Creek and Lake Minnetonka.

View the latest dam discharge and information here.

High water communication continues
MCWD provides updates to its residents, communities, and partners about high water and potential flood risk throughout the watershed. MCWD will continue to provide these updates as conditions change. These updates are available at MCWD's website. You may also receive them by signing up for our High Water e-mail list.
