3/19 Open Meeting Beer + Learn
4/2 Passive House: From Theory to Reality
|
|
It will come as no surprise that we are postponing our Open Meeting Beer + Learn on March 19 and Passive House: From Theory to Reality on April 2. As much as we enjoy seeing our high-performance building friends, and supporting the growing momentum of the Passive House movement, we know this is the right thing to do.
Tickets purchased for the April event will be handled by AIACT. We will reschedule for mid-September.
Stay safe out there and we'll see you on the other side!
Sincerely,
Connecticut Passive House

CTPH Members,
Are you getting your Members emails? The last was sent on March 2. If not, please let us know. We are aware some aren't getting them and want to make sure you're in the loop.
We're taking advantage of some downtime to revamp the membership payment process. If you've had trouble in the past, please keep your eyes open for an announcement when we roll out the new system.
Thanks to all of you we have the very fortunate problem of outgrowing our original setup! We appreciate your help, patience, and understanding.

|
New York Times opinion
"Most buildings use low-grade filters that may capture less than 20 percent of viral particles. Most hospitals, though, use a filter with what’s known as a MERV rating of 13 or higher. And for good reason — they can capture more than 80 percent of airborne viral particles."

Passive House Picks Up Steam
|
|
|
from Building Design & Construction
"Passive solutions that reduce a building’s energy consumption could get more viable as cities toughen CO2 emissions limits."
"Passive House also “dovetails” with a much bigger industry trend toward electrification to reduce combustion in projects."

The apartment building of the future is here...
|
|
|
... and it looks like a giant battery.
from The Philadelphia Inquirer
"... few Philadelphia designs have flaunted their sustainability bona fides in quite the same way that Front Flats does."
"... architecture isn’t binary, either beautiful or ugly, and the issues raised by this building are too important to dismiss it at first sight."
