WADS programme for 2020
& the Corona Virus Epidemic
Dear All,
In the midst of all the uncertainty surrounding the Coronavirus, what to do? and what will be the time scale?, the committee has made the following decisions.
The Ghost Train.
Our Spring production which is already in rehearsal and due to perform in the first week of May. Regretfully will now be postponed to May 2021, this postponement is done with the full agreement of Sandra Barfield the director and cast.
We thank all those involved in The Ghost Train for their support to date, and look forward to welcoming you all back next year.
Summer Ball.
The Ball which is scheduled for July 18th, although a long way off, and last week’s Green Room created a lot of excitement about the event, there still feels a lot of uncertainty whether we will be out of the crisis or not. Again regretfully we will postpone this Gala until 2021.
WADS Centenary.
With a little bit of artistic licence our panto in December will be the start of our centenary year with celebrations going into 2021.
The above decision I know will be a disappointment to some, but our priority must be to members' and our audience's health. At the moment lots of other events in Westerham are being cancelled. I think it's best we just bunker down and come out ready in the late summer.
TO END ON A MORE POSITIVE NOTE….
Congratulations to Ghislaine Bowden, director, the cast and team of the WADS entry into the Sevenoaks Drama Festival last Friday at the The Stag Plaza in Sevenoaks with a new play KISS ME which was very well received and praised by Shiela Hook. WELL DONE ALL.
In these uncertain times, we at WADS encourage everyone to take care and be mindful of the government recommendation for protecting the health of you and your loved ones. We hope that we will be back to entertain you towards the end of year.
