Heart of the Valley
Running News

March 2020

Hello HOTV,

With all the COVID-19 news floating around, it's time we share our thoughts and strategies for the club.

For now, we intend to continue our weekly group runs, but with some tweaks. Please stay home if you feel sick or are exhibiting any symptoms.

For those that do join any group runs, please respect each other's space (try to leave that 6' separation), avoid encouragement in the form of high fives (or really any contact). Really BIG smiles work great! And please don't share water, towels, etc.

Wednesday night track at Oregon State will be suspended until further notice. The OSU athletes can't practice together on the track, and we've also been asked to avoid using the track for the time being. Instead, Raechel will post workouts to our Facebook group and you can report back about how it went!

For our Social Run on Thursday evenings, we will continue to run but suspend the "social" portion and skip the group dinner/drinks after the run. However, we believe it is important to support local businesses during this uncertain time, so consider getting food to go.

As the situation evolves, we'll keep you updated as it pertains to club activities.

For additional guidance see the RRCA website. They've compiled a great list of tips!

Please stay smart, stay safe and happy running!
