To Our Bluegrass Community,

Like you, we are concerned for people around the world during this difficult time. In addition to health concerns, those in and around the music industry are paying a big price for the necessary steps being taken to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The bluegrass music world relies deeply on every paying gig and every event that makes our industry possible. On Friday, we sent a link to the Bluegrass Community Resources page on the IBMA website that will be continually updated to provide information and resources to assist those impacted.

To some, the concept of “social distancing" seems like an overreaction. Fortunately, most people have begun embracing the important concept of “flattening the curve” to reducing the rapid spread of COVID-19. By doing this, we can save lives and return to a more normal way of living as quickly as possible. This includes getting to play and hear live music in venues once again. To do our part in this effort and to protect the health of each employee and family member, the IBMA office has gone to a remote working environment for the time being. We are still working our regular hours and will answer your emails and phone calls. We simply ask for additional patience.

With various showcase applications, awards balloting, and event planning, it can be easy to get tied up in the day-to-day tasks of the office. However, we are working hard to be responsive to the needs of our bluegrass community during this difficult time and pursue creative means to assist you.

While it is likely we will push back ticketing and registration for IBMA World of Bluegrass, we have no plans currently to cancel this great event in the fall. Please remain aware of upcoming deadlines (listed below). 

We encourage you all to stay heathy by taking every precaution available and stay tuned for more information from the IBMA.
