Finding Peace with COVID-19 

We are all very aware of the global Coronavirus crisis and each of us is directly impacted in various ways. Most of us are taking steps to protect our personal and family health and well-being. Many of us are also doing what we can to support our communities during this powerful and life-changing time.
 
From the continuous flow of news and information we are also aware of the impact COVID-19 has on life and death and the uncertainties and unknowns that abound everywhere. This reality can be un-nerving and our views can range from being concerned and prudent to being terrified and in shock.  
 
This is where finding our center, reestablishing our balance point of peace is vital as this major shift in life choices plays out.
 
The following are a few sources of balancing our perspectives and practices which can add greatly to our quality of life and Peace.
The Big Timeout
 
We have known for a long time that in many ways how we live and the imbalances in our society are not sustainable, are inharmonious ways of being and cause harm to humans and the web of life. What can change during this timeout from life as usual?
  • What directions are called for now?
  • What are the new openings, opportunities, necessities?
  • Benefits – slowing down humanity’s frenetic activities
  • Benefit – activating networks of cooperation
  • Benefit – creating conditions for peace and well-being.
  • Benefit - rebalancing

- The fourth imperative for a positive outlook moving forward is that you need to optimize your own psychological and physical health to boost your immunity and your resilience. 

- Fifth, start looking for the opportunities of what you can do at home, which helps so you don’t feel bored and anxious.

- Sixth, get involved in improve-the-world opportunities that this extended break from business-as-usual will provide.

- The best-case scenario is ultimately for us to approach this global pandemic as something that calls us into a higher level of collaboration, creativity, and conscious living.
