Mooroopna Golf Club
Member / Guest Announcement

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Dear Members

Yes we are OPEN, and as a leading local sporting club, we take the health and safety of our members, staff, volunteers and guests seriously.  To ensure the community can continue to enjoy our facilities safely we recommend and will enforce the following procedures as a means to enable you to remain active whilst safe guarding us all.

Lyn McNaught Golf Day Changes
As recommended by the Victorian government and peak sporting bodies, Golf Australia and the PGA, we are advised to refrain from organising mass gathering at golfing events. This Saturday, our Lyn McNaught Fourball tournament will go ahead however the MGC Executive has decided to make the following changes -
  • Tee times with rolling start with 10 minute intervals (as opposed to the planned shot gun start at 7.30am and 12.30pm). A morning and afternoon tee sheet will be in place and registered players will be allocated close to their normal habit tee times for members and as close as what the shotgun times would have been for our guests. Please follow the link to view the draw.
  • There will no longer be BBQ facilities available on the day, however the Bistro will be open.
  • Players wishing to withdraw from the tournament can do so and will be entitled to a full refund.

MGC Members and guests are required to abide by the following conditions
Please note, these restrictions could change at any time, however there could be a possibility that these restrictions are in place for some time.  During this difficult time, we are ensuring that the facility is cleaned and disinfected regularly.

We have restricted conditions of entry -
1. Do NOT enter the Club if you are feeling unwell.
2. You are forbidden to enter if you have recently returned from overseas travel.
3. On entry please use provided sanitiser and soap frequently.

To reduce the risk -
1. Wash your hands often with soap and water.
2. Carry and use sanitiser often.
3. Cover your mouth while coughing or sneezing (into your elbow is best), and wash hands immediately after.
4. Seek a healthcare professional if you start to feel unwell and isolate
5. Do not shake hands and minimise other contact points.
6. Practice social distancing, which means maintaining a distance of 1.5 metres.

Non essential indoor gatherings over 100 people have now been banned by the government, we will therefore be closely monitoring this in the bistro and gaming facilities.  Pre and post game activities will be held in the outdoor areas where appropriate and we are setting up extra areas.
