Well, it's official, Massage therapy businesses were required to shut down completely last week in the state of NC. I know it is for the best, but I won't lie, this was something I was hoping we could avoid. So many of you have reached out to see if you could support Natural Marvels, still get a massage from your home, or in some other way continue to stay connected.
I thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and generosity. I truly miss working and can't wait to get back to seeing you.
I even recorded a short video tutorial for you about massaging your feet and legs for a little stress relief, increased circulation, and avoiding leg cramps. The video is posted below.
- Keep in mind that Wellness Coaching via online or over the phone meetings still remains available. You may reach out to me via text, phone, or email to schedule virtual wellness coaching sessions.
- For those who are considering purchasing gift certificates: I am happy to sell them to you, and package rates still apply. However, at this point, I realize I am going to need real income coming in once this is all over with, and with this shut down, I will still be redeeming gift certificates from Christmas through the summer. So for now, I encourage you to hold on to those funds for more frequent massages in the future, maybe plan to upgrade to 90 minute appointments, or perhaps consider a donation to a local performing arts organization that has had to cancel a performance or other programming during this time. Those organizations really can't make up income from ticket sales any other way, and any dollar amount makes a difference. As most of you know, I am the associate director of Raleigh Dance Theatre, and we are one of those not for profit arts organizations hurting right now! - For those considering asking about me coming to your home. Unfortunately, I just can't do it. I do believe we are doing best when we keep to the social distancing guidelines at least until we see a real downturn in "the curve." Besides just being a good rule follower, under the new mandates, providers who make house calls are at risk of losing their license and being charged with a Class II misdemeanor, and those who request services in their home can also be at risk for legal ramifications. So let's just not go there.
- For now, I am canceling all appointments through the end of April. You should receive an email confirmation regarding the cancellation. I will keep appointments on the calendar that are currently scheduled for May and June. You may continue to request appointments up to 60 days in advance with the knowledge that we may have to cancel as future advice and mandates comes down from health and government officials. If things suddenly get better, and I am able to open sooner, please know that I will be reaching out ASAP!
