A Personal Message to You

Melissa and I are very blessed to have the wonderful customers that we have.  Our efforts to provide training and social contact through our webinars and online events have been well received by many people.

Although much of this newsletter focuses on sales so that we can continue to 'feed the dog,' we do understand the real priority has to be the health and safety of those around us.
Many of our customers are in the high-risk category and need to isolate themselves even from their loved ones.  In an effort to make this time feel less alone, we will be having more online social events.  Not just training webinars, but events that use the Zoom meeting feature that allows people to speak and see one another.  You have the opportunity to show off your latest projects and ask other people questions.

We will not be charging people for support related to getting their laptops, tablets, and smartphones set up to work with these online events.  If you have problems connecting to one of these events, simply schedule a support call through this website form and we will attempt to get you squared away.  Watch for 'webinar' events such as a VIRTUAL SHOW AND TELL by selecting the 'webinar' category filter on the top of your My Dashboard within the MKQU site.

Thanks to your continued support, none of our employees have to worry about losing their jobs. Please stay healthy and safe.

Paul Kruschwitz - CTO, Nerd, Co-Owner, and married to the boss.

Attend a Virtual Cyber Quilt Show

MK Quilts is better prepared than any other retailer to support you during this difficult time!

We were surprised when the Cyber Quilt Show was announced.  While other retailers were literally shut down and could not support their customers, MK Quilts is working overtime to make sure customers' needs are addressed.  Our ability to work remotely with people to solve problems and even remotely deploy new systems during this quarantine period demonstrates how we are truly an exceptional retailer.

The good news for someone shopping for a longarm machine is that we will honor the show pricing being offered during the Cyber Quilt Show.  We will also honor any discounted accessories that are offered during the show.  If you chose to buy them from MK Quilts, let us know the special being offered and we will arrange to match the price.

Buy now, install later.  MK Quilts can get Pro-Stitcher remotely set up on a laptop so that you can start learning before your machine is even set up.  Park the boxes in the corner and go to school at MK Quilts University.  Free tuition is included with every machine purchase.

An Update from MK

You did not think that I would let Paul be the only one to contribute to this newsletter, did you?  This is what I have been up to...

Ellen and I have been in the shop working.  It's "sew" great that we have 2 sides of the shop now.  We had been doing our Dynamic Duo updates but that puts us too close together, so if we do updates, they will likely be individually done and spliced together.
We did have a nice and friendly visit from our local sheriff's department who gave us an update about how our local shelter in place directive was/is affecting businesses.  We were told that because of the nature of our business, we would not be mandated to close our doors.  We did have to have the notice put on our door and as Paul mentioned, above, we have canceled all group, in-shop sessions until further notice and are taking the lead and queue from our clients on whether or not they would like to drop off or pick up quilts.  I have even delivered finished projects; leaving them at the front door making my client aware that I had just stopped.  Payment can be made online or by the sending of a paper check.  I trust my clients.  They have been so good to me over the years, that if they are local and close to me, I certainly don't mind doing that.

I'm keeping myself busy on "my side" of the studio, creating new content for you.  Ellen is busy on her side quilting quilts and has been working outside of the shop, during her work at home hours, on the Ruler of the Month Club.  She's doing a fantastic job with that.  If you're interested in that, click on over to the MKQU site. You can join at any time over the next 5 months, but only those who sign up for the club by Tuesday of this week (3/31) and complete all 6 months of the club, will qualify for the free ruler at the end of the club period.

I've even pulled out a scrap piecing project of my own and have been sewing a little.  I mean wow, haven't really done any piecing since retreat last fall.  I love my job.  Even in these crazy and uncertain times.  I'm certain of one thing, quilting is in my soul and sharing that passion with all of you is the blessing that keeps me ticking.

May quilting keep you ticking and stitching and happy and healthy.
MK :)

Samson's Corner

My job has been a little 'ruff' these past few weeks.  I am not seeing as many customers lately, but I keep my skills sharp by barking at the delivery people.  My favorite mail carrier is retiring, so I am a little bummed.  They are so hard to train, but I will work on the new guy.

Thank you for supporting my folks.  They still take me through the Chic-Fila drive-thru, so times can't be that bad.  I look forward to seeing you at future events.
