What's New?
  • And even more schools going test-optional (at least for this coming admissions cycle): Boston University, University of Oregon, Portland State, University of Toledo, Eastern Oregon, Southern Oregon, Western Oregon, Oregon Health and Science University.

  • You can find free AP review courses on YouTube, although test registration is still not open.  Click here.

  • International Baccalaureate has announced the following:
    • The DP and CP examinations scheduled between April 30 and May 22 are cancelled.
    • Students will be awarded either a diploma or course certificate reflecting their standard of work. This will be based around the student's coursework and the established assessment expertise, rigor, and quality control already built into the program.

  • College Fairs have been cancelled, but don't despair.  You can attend Virtual College Exploration Week, April 20-23, free.  Click here.

  • The Chronicle of Higher Education cites a study conducted among high school seniors surveyed March 17-20 to understand the impact of the coronavirus on college plans.  Of the 17% of respondents who reported that they didn't think they would end up enrolled full-time at a four-year college in the fall, 35% expected to take a gap year, 35% expect to enroll only part-time, 7% felt they would attend community college, and 6% said they would work full-time.

  • It's likely that the pandemic will financially impact the families of many graduating seniors. Students that feel that their financial aid award should be re-evaluated should:
    • Use college website net price calculators to see if the change in finances affects their financial aid eligibility.
    • If the calculator shows a change, they should contact schools they have been admitted to understand the appeal process.
    • Financial aid evaluations will likely be re-evaluated during the summer.

  • Liberty University president, Jerry Falwell, Jr., invited students to return to the dorms last week. About a dozen of those students are showing symptoms of the coronavirus.
