Town of Duck Services

To protect our citizens and staff, we ask you to call or email the office to ask how we can assist you remotely. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Friday.

 
Services
Trash and recycling collection will continue as scheduled, with the addition of a residential recycling collection on March 30. No items outside of the trash container will be collected.

The Town’s spring bulk waste collection, originally scheduled for April 17, will be postponed until a later date.  The Town will provide notice once a new date is scheduled.
 
The Public Safety building is closed to non-emergency issues, including facility tours and the T-shirt shop.

The Town of Duck Police Department continues to monitor unoccupied properties throughout town. Should signs of unauthorized entry or other issues be observed, the homeowner or property management company will be contacted.

Meetings
The April 1 Town Council meeting will be live streamed. Instructions for public comment and viewing will be posted here prior to the meeting.

The April 8 Planning Board meeting has been canceled.

In North Carolina, there are currently 1040 cases of COVID-19 in 69 counties.There have been 4  fatalities in NC associated with COVID-19. Currently, the state is reporting 91 hospitalizations across the state from COVID-19 illness. 

Dare County has had one individual test positive for COVID-19. The Dare County Department of Health and Human Services will continue to report any positive cases as soon as possible.

The Dare County “Stay Home - Stay Healthy” order -  became effective, yesterday, Saturday, March 28 at 5:00 p.m. This order aligns with North Carolina’s Stay at Home Executive Order

While the weather is beautiful and the therapeutic value of getting outside and enjoying the sunlight and fresh air is immeasurable, we ask everyone to respect the order that is in place and limit your travel. We cannot stress enough that maintaining social distancing is one of the most effective tools we have to reduce the spread of COVID-19. For the safety of you, your family and our community, don't make exceptions to this order of social distancing. Maintain at least six feet of separation from others (non-family members).

Dare County

The Dare County COVID-19 Call Center is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and can be reached at 252.475.5008. Staff members are available to help address your questions.
