We need your help.

Like everyone across the world, we have been following the developments regarding the spread of the COVID-19 virus very closely.  We have taken sensible and responsible precautions during this time, such as closing the Northwest Art Center and The Studio on Main during the early stages of this crisis.  We also canceled our Wine and Paint offsite events, rentals, and parties.

Our closure has had a serious impact on our income. We are facing the reality of needing to permanently close this incredible non-profit by May 1.

What can you do to help?

We are asking you to donate right now.   $25 or $50 from you would help us to get some supplies for our current students' art kits.  $25 may be the amount of money you are saving by not going to your favorite coffee shop this month.  $50 may be the amount you save this month by not driving.  Consider donating that to us!

If you want to make an impact supporting our classes and programs,  $250 is equivalent to two months of Digital Arts classes at NWAC.
Your $250 donation will help offset the loss of our normal income and will help us make it through the next two very uncertain months.

You can donate directly via this link:  https://northwestartcenter.org/donate/

If you are a current student, please continue to partner with us on this journey of an online learning environment. Your tuition enables us to continue to pay our teachers and pay the overhead that we can not reduce.

Please consider donating directly to us to help keep our operations going while our physical locations are closed.  If you have corporate matching, we would love to have you submit your donation to us for matching.

One of our longtime parents sent this via email upon hearing that we needed to cancel her son's class due to our closure:

“I was just talking with my husband, who works for Microsoft, and he suggested getting a full refund of $215 of our Lego Robotics class and then we will donate $100 separately so he can submit it for a 100% match. We want to maximize how we can help.”

We want to thank you for your past donations and for supporting the Northwest Art Center.  Since 2009, with your help and support, our small non-profit has grown to offer art and creative activities to well over 5,000 people in our community. This includes ongoing core art classes for all ages, specialty workshops, wine and paint nights, drop-in paint your own pottery, DIY art, and more.

Additionally, we have offered free art activities at many Duvall festivals and events, and run the annual Art & Wine Walk which happens each September. We've worked with several other charities such as Hopelink Duvall Place, Acres of Diamonds, Tavon and Bridge of Promise to offer artistic opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and financial situations. We've been proud to partner with you to provide beauty, artist growth, and creativity in our community.

What are we doing to offset our closure?

Our amazing and dedicated teachers have spent hours preparing take-home art kits for their students and are currently creating videos and curriculum using those kits for online learning for our currently enrolled students.   Studio on Main has created and launched an online store in less than 24 hours offering to-go art kits for the public.

You can visit our website now at https://northwest-art-center.square.site/

Pick out some fun pottery to paint or DIY art in the comfort of your home.  It's an easy and fun solution for people practicing social distancing and every little bit helps keep NWAC afloat.

Some quotes from our supportive parents and customers regarding having to cancel classes and offering online learning and to go art kits:

“We're both really sad that the class is coming to an end.  Terri's just wonderful, and we've learned a lot from her and have enjoyed our time with her.  It's totally understandable why things are stopping. These are crazy times. I hope that she'll have more classes available in the future.“

“We picked up our kits yesterday and everyone is SO EXCITED to paint this morning! Thank you for offering this awesome option for our community”

“I know you're super busy, but I wanted to say I truly appreciate you going through the effort of putting together an online class. We appreciate you thinking of us stuck at home with kids!”

In addition to expanding our online store options, we are currently actively pursuing grants, loans, and more overhead reduction plans.  We are not sure to what extent we will be eligible for any of these options or whether we will be able to stay in business long enough to receive any potential assistance.

As a nonprofit which offers art to all ages and abilities, we believe that our mission helps to bolster people's hope and creativity and thus offer a spot of sanity and love in life and even more so in these challenging times.
