We'll all be changed
Hi <<First Name>>,
I don't know about you, but I'm happy to be saying goodbye to the month of March.
It was humbling.
Surreal.
Every plan I had now lays wasted and at the close of each day, I felt exhausted.
But as we now hibernate, we're also slowly moving.
Things will change from being out of our control, to finding and inventing new ways of doing things:
- Of working together and learning together.
- Of being flexible.
- Of connecting.
We'll learn how to keep our lives and businesses afloat.
Life will change.
Although we're separating to stay safe, it's wonderful seeing people redirect their energy to remain connected, to care for those most exposed and doing meaningful things.
So what’s working for me? Slowing my pace. Pivoting. Reflecting. Working where I can. Being gentle, yet holding myself accountable. Eating well. Knitting socks. Time with my dogs, Jessie and Tilly. Sleep.
What I'm finding hard: Letting go of my plans for 2020. Guilt around work and its contribution to my family. Shaving my legs (what’s the point?) Not knowing when this will be over. Choosing a yarn from my stash, for the next pair of socks.
But one thing I do know, is that all things come out of hibernation. To grow.

PS: I can't forget a big thank you to those people not at home: retail workers, medical workers, delivery drivers, police officers and more. Thank you for moving, while we stand still, to fight this together.
