With an increase in the social distancing policy announced by the Federal Government last night and following clarification by Golf NSW with the State Government and NSW Office of Sport, Golf NSW have recommended that all golf clubs and golf activities in NSW close at midnight 30th March 2020.
We all understand the health benefits, both mental and physical our game provides, however the Government has listed the four reasons in which you may leave your home; for work, exercise, food, and for medical reasons.
Sadly, under the current restrictions, sport is considered non-essential and therefore not exempt. Action by authorities, including fines, could be imposed on people not adhering to these regulations – Golf NSW
This stance is consistent with the advice of Golf Australia and similar to actions taken in other states. We will continue to monitor the advice of the Government and Golf Administrators as to when we will be able to re-open.
We understand that these decisions will have a varying effect on each person however our main concern is the health and well being of our members.

Support Your Club
With the Sporting Club already closing its doors a week ago and now the golf course, we need your support more than ever. As was advised last week the Club commenced a condensed take-away menu from the mobile kitchen now located near the front entrance of the Club. This will be available initially from Tuesday through to Saturday only, 12pm to 2pm and 6pm to 8pm each day.
There is a small variety of take away meals available as well as a selection of 'take home and heat' meals. We've all got to eat, and we know the food is good, so let's take advantage of this new arrangement. This has been extremely popular already and we look forward to seeing many more taking advantage of this offering.
If you haven't already seen it, a 'Go-Fund-Me' page has been set up to help save the club. Already some very generous donations have been given, and to those people we should all be grateful. It's a times like these that we see unbelievable generosity being shown to a club that has given them so much. Again, let's show everyone the spirit of Leonay and the Club and donate what we can.
