Andie Moore

Our own Andie led the UMSU Queer Political Action Collective 'Stalls For All' campaign in 2019 to promote accessible bathrooms on campus. The campaign gained the attention of University leadership, prompting UoM's decision to implement 500 more single-stall, all-gender bathrooms.

Nevo Zisin

Nevo is a Jewish, queer, non-binary writer, activist and public speaker with a particular focus on issues surrounding gender, sex, culture and sexuality. They are a youth leader, running workshops in schools and workplaces around trans issues.

Ben Barres (1954–2017)

Ben was a neuroscientist who focused his attention on relatively unstudied group of cells called glia. Glia were long dismissed as the brain’s support crew—there simply to provide nutrients or structural scaffolding.

Evie Macdonald

Evie is an activist and actor starring in the new ABC show First Day, following the challenges that come with starting a new school for a 12 year-old transgender girl, and finding the courage to live as her most authentic self.

Resources

Switchboard Victoria has compiled a list of resources that could support the trans, gender diverse and the broader LGBTIQA+community due to the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19), particularly regarding its impact on the Australian healthcare system and cancellation of planned surgeries. Please share these resources and encourage people to reach out if they need support.
