Dear all,

For the first time, many of us in the West are beginning to understand what it is like to feel vulnerable to a threat we cannot control, cannot contain. Yet we should take a moment to recognise how marginalised people across the world have been feeling this all of their lives.

Unlike us, they are not able to access medical information to protect their health, educational resources to teach their children, or communicate with loved ones away from home. The good news is, ‘Hello Hubs’ can make all these things possible - for both adults and children.

For the world’s most vulnerable citizens - those in remote villages and refugee camps - Hello World’s work has never been more urgent, but it is likely that charity funding will dry up during this pandemic. Fortunately these are the people you can help right now, from the comfort of your own sofa - for FREE!

Here’s how:

Hello World is registered with easyfundraising and Amazon Smile which means you can raise money for us every time you shop online. Over 4,000 shops and sites will donate to Hello World when you purchase from them – at no extra cost to you.

If you shop on Amazon please register with Amazon Smile and select ‘Hello World’. You can save us as your charity of choice and even shop through the app. Just remember to shop through Amazon Smile in the UK (click here in the USA).

Easyfundraising couldn’t be… well, easier. Simply search ‘Hello World’ , click ‘support this cause’ and sign up or log in. Then choose from thousands of online retailers. If you shop often, why not download the app or the donation reminder - to remind you to use easy fundraising and register your donation.

You can also refer any friends & family to easyfundraising so they can raise whenever they shop online too. When they raise their first £5, easyfundraising will match it and give £5 to Hello World. Refer as many friends & family as you like, it's unlimited!

For thousands of kids using Hello Hubs, the idea of homeschooling is nothing new. Many have never been to school in the first place. But they - like children everywhere - have a lot to teach us adults at this time, about how to learn and play no matter what the circumstances.

If you’re homeschooling your little ones at the moment, please consider matching your effort with a donation to Hello World. Or you could show your children the Hello Hub learners in action - to inspire them in their own self-led studies.

While you have the kids at home, why not use all of that extra cardboard from your deliveries to build your very own Hello World geodesic dome  and please do share your photos with us for the children at our hubs in Nepal and Uganda - they’d love to see them!

In the meantime, here’s something they made:

There is so much more to tell you about, from the Launch of our Hub Heroes programme and the shoot of our free multi-media How To Build Your Own Hub Guide, to the incredible press we have continued to receive: FORBES, Philanthropy Women, Positive News, Education Technology & Nemo Travel

And - coming soon - our BBC Radio 4 appeal….

Until then,

I hope that you and yours stay safe and well,

Katrin
