Dear friends,

We hope you are keeping well during this difficult time. The ministry staff have been meeting electronically for morning prayer daily at which we remember each member of our congregation by name throughout the course of the week, as well as other's who have asked for prayer.

Canon Robert will be offering the first of our podcast reflections tomorrow on 'Waiting'. It will be available on our website and Facebook page tomorrow morning. Other clergy will be leading these over the coming weeks and we hope you will enjoy these short podcasts of scripture, prayer and reflection.

This Sunday, Palm Sunday, marks the beginning of Holy Week, one of the most significant weeks in the Church's year. Although we cannot worship together in person, we do hope you will join in our services and journey with us through this week. Details of how you can watch our services is available below. The Melbourne City Churches in Action (MICCIA) is organising an online version of their annual 'Way of the Cross' walk that you will also be able to watch on Good Friday.

It was lovely to have Canon Christopher and Roslyn lead the Thursday Lunchtime Service from their home. A number of our clergy and staff are now self-isolating like I'm sure many of you are too. Over the coming weeks, various Cathedral Clergy and Canons will be offering worship from their homes and we hope that you will feel at home with them during these services.

Thank you to everyone who joined in our services last Sunday and during this week, we had well over 200 people watching the 10am service live last Sunday. It is always lovely to see familiar names joining in our worship online, so please do keep commenting and letting us know you are joining us. Maybe you would like to share a picture or let us know how you are worshipping from home?

In the next week or so you should receive a 'Spiritual Care Pack' that we have been putting together. This includes printed information of how to setup a Zoom or Facebook account, prayer and 'worship at home' resources and other important information for you at this time.

Almighty God, whose dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the cross, may find it none other that the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Tips for joining in Worship at home:

  • Be ready to go 10 minutes before the service is starting with your computer, iPad or TV set up and connected and volume turned up. The livestream will appear a few minutes before the service is scheduled to begin.
  • If you have a printer, you may want to print the Order of Service in advance and have them ready for Sunday Morning, otherwise you can follow along on another device. Do join in the responses and hymns as you normally would.
  • If there is problem with the Livestream technology, don't worry! We will record all our services and make them available as soon as possible after.

Tips for joining our Zoom Gatherings

  • To access the Zoom meetings/gatherings just click the links that around the time the session is to begin (9.15 and 11.15am)
  • Make sure you're volume is turned up on your computer so you can hear everyone.
