During the COVID-19 outbreak, we ask that you protect our community by adhering to all public health advisories. Please know our Park Rangers and Field staff are doing the best we can to keep up with the increased visitation, enforce regulations, and clean facilities while staying safe. Please follow these guidelines if you choose to visit a park:
- If you are sick or have been exposed to someone who is sick,
DO NOT visit parks and public areas; stay home, except to seek medical care.
- Stay close to home and recreate in your own neighborhood.
- DO NOT gather in groups larger than 4.
- Practice physical distancing of at least 6’ in parks, trailheads, trails, and climbing crags. As always, be courteous and communicate when passing others on the trail.
- Flatten the (visitation) curve. Our parks are busiest between 9:30 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. Avoid visiting during peak hours. If a parking lot looks full, drive to another park.
- Keep dogs on leash at ALL times.
- Bring your own hand sanitizer or handwashing supplies, and sanitize/wash hands after touching public surfaces such as railings, benches, and handles. Washing with soap and water is more effective than hand sanitizer. Consider creating a portable hand washing station like this one.
- Respect JCOS staff by keeping a 6' distance when interacting, and allowing space and time to perform maintenance duties.
If you witness park regulations being broken or public safety concerns at any Jeffco Open Space parks, please report directly to Jeffco Dispatch Non-emergency number 303-980-7300.
Check our website for a full list of parks and download the LotSpot app for your phone to see parking lot availability.
Jeffco has compiled a list of resources available to support our community during the COVID-19 outbreak. Please share these critical services, FAQs, and resources with your friends and loved ones, and check back often as this page will be updated when new resources are available.
