April has arrived! Here's what's happening at the Museum.
To support municipal and community efforts to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Collingwood Museum is closed to the public until further notice.  Museum staff will be available through email at museum@collingwood.ca or by phone (705) 445-4811 ext 7222 (Monday to Friday 9:00-5:00). Please continue to practice physical distancing and we look forward to seeing everyone when operations return to normal.

Celebrate Archives Awareness Week by accessing newly released digital resources from the Collingwood Museum!

The Collingwood Museum is home to an impressive archival collection that is a testament to Collingwood’s spirit of collecting. From settler accounts of our once swampy shores to photographs and scrapbooks documenting life in Collingwood during local and global events, our local archives offers invaluable insight into the evolving history behind the way we live, work, and play as a community.

Find some of the museum’s most popular resources on our website for free home access as we all practice self-isolation and physical distancing. Happy searching!

We've made some of our children's programming resources available online for kids to try at home. Visit collingwood.ca/museum for craft instruction sheets, colouring pages and writing prompts.

We would love to see your work! Email us a picture of your completed project or tag us on Facebook

The Town of Collingwood has launched an online portal called RallyPoint that aims to continue facilitating active living for all ages and abilities through community inclusion, culture, art, and social connection in the wake of COVID-19 physical distancing and self-isolation.

This new activity and resource hub was created by the Town’s Parks, Recreation, and Culture Department (PRC) as a means to bring Collingwood Together At Home (#cwoodtogetherathome). A collection of online programs, activities, and resources, RallyPoint invites the community to explore parks, recreation, arts, and culture in non-traditional ways in the absence of the Town’s regular programs and events.

Join the fun at www.collingwood.ca/rallypoint

Listed links will showcase virtual experiences and resources in education, physical activity, culture, music, poetry, and more. Icons will further identify the resources that are local to Collingwood.

In order to keep RallyPoint content fresh and relevant, PRC is asking the community to participate by submitting content and opportunities. Local businesses, groups, and organizations who have developed online or non-traditional programming are encouraged to provide details using the RallyPoint online form. Free and fee-based activities are welcome.

April is National Poetry Month and Collingwood’s creative juices are flowing. Poet Laureate Day Merrill is celebrating with “30 Loaves – Bread for the Journey” on the Town's website. Every day a new poem written by a Canadian poet will be posted. To learn more about how to create your own lyrical verse go to RallyPoint, Collingwood’s newest online resource for local arts and culture.
