SVPP Community,

This is an update about how we are working with all of you and continuing to support homeless pets during this very difficult time.

First and foremost, thank you! Silicon Valley Pet Project has received an overwhelming amount of support from this compassionate community recently.

Since March 1, we have rescued 25 pets from local shelters and we are still taking in as many pets as we can. With the shelters closed and staff reduced, these homeless pets receive limited human interaction and little chance of being adopted. All of our focus has shifted to rescue.

Foster families are still needed as we rescue a record number of pets from the shelter. We are still accepting foster applications but please be patient as our volunteers process the exceptional number we are receiving.

Meanwhile, we remain dedicated to ensuring the health and safety of our community by cancelling and rescheduling activities at Pup Plaza, our dog community center. We are still conducting adoption meet and greets on site, but by appointment only as we comply with health mandates.

We have had a great number of supporters ask how they can help. Here are some suggestions:
  • Monetary donations are most important so we can continue to provide necessary medical care to those pets experiencing health issues, like Zeus.

  • If you would like to donate supplies, please do so through SVPP’s Amazon Wishlists.  Please have items delivered to SVPP’s Gift Registry Address as we cannot take donations in person at Pup Plaza at this time. With kitten season already underway, we need food and litter for these special youngsters. These items are distributed to our foster parents who are caring for both dogs and cats.

  • If you are already ordering household supplies for your family, please be sure you are using AmazonSmile and choose Silicon Valley Pet Project as your charitable organization.

  • We need “digital advocates” to help our pets in foster care find their forever homes. Please go to our Facebook page or our Instagram page and share our posts of pets in our foster program so they get as much promotion and digital love as possible. Let’s spread the word of adoption!!
If you have questions or want to contact us, please email info@svpetproject.org. Again, thank you!  We can only do this life-saving work with your support.

We wish you, yours and all in our community good health and peace.
