SPARK remains closed during COVID-19

Dear friends of SPARK,

As we all work to navigate the constantly changing circumstances surrounding COVID-19, please rest assured the safety and well being of our staff, volunteers, and visitors is our top priority. We will be updating the website with relevant information regarding closures, policies, cancellations, etc. We appreciate all of you, and invite you to join us in doing your part to ensure the health of those around you by listening to official recommendations regarding large gatherings, hand washing, and being aware of any symptoms you may feel.

As you probably know, SPARK Museum and all of SPARK’s programs have been closed to the public since March 16. In accordance with Gov. Inslee's March 23 "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" proclamation, we will remain closed until further notice to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Remember, as concern and fear are natural reactions to the current circumstances, we also have an opportunity and a responsibility to practice kindness as we take into consideration the well-being of others as we care for ourselves.

Thank you all!

SPARK Videos:

Since you can't come to SPARK right now for a visit, we thought we'd share a couple fun videos (below) of the museum for you to enjoy from the safety of home. Visit the SPARK Facebook page for more fun stuff, including SPARK co-founder John Jenkins' "impossible bolts" project.

Tour SPARK with mother/daughter team

Among the many neat things you'll see in this video are SPARK Museum docent Mark Allyn (pictured above in a scene from the video) recording a song onto a wax cylinder. It really works, and it's cool to see (and hear) it in action!

Missing the MegaZapper shows? We are, too. But here's a video from 2016 that shows some pretty cool highlights of the show. It's not as good as the real thing, but it'll have to suffice for now while we're all home safe.
