 Brief update from Epilepsy Ottawa

We know that dealing with epilepsy has made our community resilient. Social distancing isn’t going to stop us from celebrating Purple Day, the international day of epilepsy awareness.

Here are some ways to celebrate with us:

FACEBOOK LIVE ON PURPLE DAY

Join Sandi at 1pm on March 26th at our Facebook group for a Live Stream of her family’s Purple Day celebration. Bonus: Sandi’s daughter Haizel will read slam poetry she wrote about living with epilepsy.

Sandi hosts a chat on our Facebook group every weekday at 1pm.

Join the Facebook group at www.facebook.com/groups/epilepsyottawa

The Purple People Campaign

Purple Day is the perfect time to submit your entry to the Purple People Campaign.

We want to see pictures of you in purple clothes, doors or areas of your house you have decorated purple, the purple food you have created, the purple crafts you have made – the sky is the limit!

Here is how it works:
1. Take your photo
2. Upload your photo to our website www.epilepsyottawa.ca/thepurpledoorpeople
3. Every photo you submit will get your name entered into a draw to win one of our new epilepsy t-shirts!  And there will be 5 draws! The more photos you submit, the better your odds of winning!
4. The campaign ends April 10th, winners will be notified April 14th.

If you're looking for inspiration, check out this video about making a Purple Day wreath by Christina from Epilepsy Toronto and her dog Bowie.
