What is happening? Atmosphere and Covid-19
Due to the current domestic travel restrictions within the Philippines, our beautiful Island of Negros is not accessible for tourism. It is therefore with great sadness that we are announcing the temporary closure of Atmosphere Resorts & Spa, in order to support and comply with the safety regulations set out under Covid-19 virus.
This decisions not been taken lightly, and we wish to focus on the future and being for our Atmosphere team and guests when restrictions are lifted and our doors re-open.
We have aimed to contact all agents with guests who fall within the current travel restriction dates of March 15 - April 14 and offered them various extension options for rebooking. If you have not heard from us, please contact your sales representative or enquiries@atmosphereresorts.com. Our reservations team is available 7 days per week 9am-5pm local time by phone, and emails will be answered within 24 hours.

New re-booking rules
We can’t wait to see all of you here at Atmosphere Resorts & Spa again after the travel bans lift.
In light of Covid-19 and the massive impact it has had on guests travel plans for the foreseeable future, we have made a change in our re-booking rules for future bookings. In order to facilitate your future bookings, any bookings made now until April 30, with travel dates between April and October 2020, will be given the option of one rebooking without penalties for dates until November 30 2021, excluding peak periods and subject to availability. This regards FIT bookings – for group bookings, contact your Atmosphere sales representative or your travel agent. Please note that the change of date must be done at least 10 days before the original booking stay dates.

Thank you to staff and guests
We would like to give a heartfelt thank you to our guests and travel partners, for supporting us through these difficult times. We are immensely grateful for the understanding you have shown us during these past couple of weeks. Many of you have had your travel plans disrupted and we have been genuinely humbled by your understanding when we have had to re-schedule your holiday with us at Atmosphere.
Our second heartfelt thank you goes to our amazing staff, who has stood by us in this time of uncertainty. We are saddened by so many families being affected by the crumbling of the tourism industry and in a country where one person is often the breadwinner for a whole family, it is heartbreaking to tell staff to cut their hours, even if it is temporarily. Our staff has shown the resilience that we all know and love, so typical of the Filipino people. Thank you.

And the diving continued...
We are fortunate here in Dauin to have scuba diving accessible on our doorstep. Without guests, the coastal coral reefs are getting a bit of a break with only the occasional visitor. One of those is Dario, who came from Seattle just before the travel ban to do his PADI Divemaster course with Atmosphere Resorts & Spa. Not one to give up, Dario has been enjoying confined water skill practice in his very own pool (he can actually chose from three pools!), assisting on courses taught to Atmosphere staff or their children, and generally enjoying the attention of a disproportionate number of experienced dive instructors. Go Dario!

An Atmosphere of hibernation
Behind closed “doors” at Atmosphere, works are ongoing to ensure that our guests can look forward to a fantastic stay when they return. A resort the size of Atmosphere needs constant upkeep, or nature would go wild. Whether it is cleaning the pool tiles underwater or raking the never-ending stream of leaves, we are ensuring that your next stay will be perfect. A few of the most important jobs at hand are to keep the pools sparkly clean, the grass short and the plants trimmed, airing all rooms daily and cleaning the hulls and propellers of our boats. Last but not least, very importantly, chilling the beer in anticipation of our guests returning to Atmosphere!

Resort upgrade
Stunning new artwork on the wall of Breeze restaurant
We are more than proud to present this new stunning artwork welcoming you to Breeze restaurant. Designed and executed by Adam Detre Designs, this wooden artwork inspired by the moon, has been in the works for months. Using a discarded acacia tree trunk from when the highway was widened last year, and carved by hand in the #PAJA workshop next door to Atmosphere, we have been following the progress step by step.
We are also proud to display other works by Adam Detre Designs at Atmosphere, you will for example also find unique pieces in all our Garden Apartments.

Dive Centre News
14 critter students in 2 months
Divers are increasingly seeking out opportunities to delve into specialty areas. At Atmosphere, we are lucky to have a unique specialty available nowhere else! The PADI Critters Specialty, written and created by our in-house marine biologist Kirsty Richards, celebrates the incredible diversity of critters found along Dauin’s coastline. Each student is challenged to find at least 10 critters across two dives and the highest so far is 17! During her first two months, Kirsty certified 14 students – all keen critter hunters by now!

F&B update
Bartenders flaring at cocktail night
If this month was a normal month with Thursday cocktail nights at Atmosphere Resorts & Spa, you’d be treated to both flaming and flaring by our amazing bar staff. Cocktails on fire, daring balancing acts and a bit of old-fashioned flaring a la Tom Cruise in “Cocktail”. This picture were taken the Thursday before the travel bans hit the world and our guests had to leave the resort in a rush to make it back home. We look forward to entertaining you again in the bar in the not-so-distant future!
