Letter from Principal Greeson
Sacred Heart Family,

As we go through the next two weeks of Alternative Method of Instruction (AMI) days, I want to take this opportunity to let everyone know that we are going to do the very best we can to deliver the best possible instruction to all Sacred Heart students.  These are unprecedented times with which none of us have experience.  The faculty and staff have been working diligently preparing for the upcoming weeks of instruction.  Two things I feel are the most important during this time are communication and patience.  An open line of communication needs to be established between the teachers and students, teachers and parents, administration and teachers, and administration and the entire school family.  It is imperative these lines of communication remain two-way communication.  As we go through this process we all need to practice great patience with each other.  As I stated previously, none of us have experience with this particular method of education.  Please always keep in mind that we are in this together and together we can make the best of the situation.

Thank you and may God Bless all of you,

AMI INSTRUCTIONS FOR K-12

Please note that this is new for all of us and things may change as we go along. For now, our plan for delivering education is below. We want to stress that SH teachers are available to help you and we encourage high school students and elementary parents to reach out via email, text and phone (see scheduling info below). Finally, one of our primary concerns and objectives is to continue to provide religious education and opportunities for spiritual development. Stay tuned for resources you can use at home and scroll to the bottom of this email. For now we strongly suggest you take advantage of spiritual offerings available from the Diocese of Little Rock at www.dolr.org.

In order for any virtual applications to be used, it is critical that teachers have correct email addresses. Elementary parents – please contact your child(ren)’s teachers to be sure they have a correct email for you (if you don’t have their email address, email to akoonce@sacredheartmorrilton.org). For 7-12 grades, if you have not already, please be sure that your child(ren) knows their Sacred Heart email and password as they will need it and will need to login to check their email (www.gmail.com) for Zoom and other virtual learning instructions. If they need assistance accessing email, please contact Martha Briggler at mbriggler@sacredheartmorrilton.org

AMI PLAN:

K-3 – because so much comes from worksheets, etc, we will prepare printed packets. On Monday and Tuesday of this week, these teachers will have the opportunity to prepare packets for the coming weeks (K-2 already took home 2 weeks worth of work). These grades will be assembling the remaining work for now until April 17.  Packets will be ready for pick up between 4-6pm Wednesday, April 1, in front of church. Mr. Greeson will meet you at your car with your packets so you don’t have to leave your vehicle.  Each Sunday beginning April 5, Mr. Greeson will be in front of the church between 4-6pm so you can turn in your student’s work from the previous week and teachers can grade/provide feedback.

4-6 grades – teachers will continue posting assignments to Renweb on Monday for the coming week. In addition to written instructions on Renweb, teachers may use video/Zoom sessions when introducing new concepts (details will be forthcoming as available).   All work can be emailed to the teacher (see phone scanning options below) or can be dropped off each Sunday between 4-6 pm in front of church.
  • Mr. Taylor will be staggering assignments as follows: Math will be Monday/Wednesday/Friday and Science will be Tuesday and Thursday. On the day following assignments, Mr. Taylor will post answers for the assignments given the previous day so that parents/students may check their work and reach out to him for timely feedback and additional support.Quizzes will be given as assigned.
  • Burgener/Tyler – all assignments will be posted to Renweb by 8am Monday morning for the coming week.
K-6 - we encourage parents to email your child’s teacher anytime you need additional support. They will be happy to schedule a time that works for you both to answer any questions and/or provide additional instruction.

7-12 –All assignments for 7-12 will be cross posted on both Renweb and google classroom (under assignments; exception – any class not using google classroom will post to Renweb only). Due dates and all relevant instructions will be posted accordingly. Please remember that teachers are balancing their time, answering questions from numerous classes in any given day. In order to help them meet the needs of all students, they have each set “office hours” during which you can expect a response. Available hours will be posted in the child's google classroom.
Regarding work completed the first week of AMI (March 16-20), it should be emailed to the teacher or if paper copies, it can be dropped off in front of church 4-6pm Sunday or Wednesday this week.

Please note that you may access our wifi from the school parking lot if needed.
Thank you again for your patience during this time. We are all in this together and will do our best to meet the needs of our Sacred Heart family.

YEARBOOK UPDATE FROM JOSTENS, INC.:
As we all adapt to change, one thing that remains constant is the yearbook tradition of documenting the history of our students and capturing their school year forever.

We are pleased to announce that the Sacred Heart School yearbook advisor and staff are working hard to complete the yearbook and make sure it is printed.

Since copies are limited and school schedules continue to change, we ask that you please order your yearbook ONLINE as soon as possible.
Stay tuned! SH Morning Messages will resume Monday morning at 8am via FB thanks to Mrs. Bottoms and her sixth grade helpers!

This is our second weekend without Mass. I am passing along more resources so we can stay connected. We are so blessed that the Church has stepped up to keep us all connected. Here are more wonderful opportunities to tune in to Mass, Stations and other ways to pray.
Our own Diocese of LR has information about how to tune in to Mass on Sundays and Daily Mass. Several of our own diocesan priests are using FB and other ways for us to join them at Mass. Check out the the websites
Diocese of LR

The Magnificat is a wonderful way to say morning prayer, Mass and evening prayer. They are offering digital access FREE during this time.

EWTN has lots of resources

We have access to the website FORMED through our parish. If any of you are interested they have a parish pw to sign in to it. If any of you are interested I can get the PW for you.

And last but certainly not least, I have found this prayer for Spiritual Communion to be quite comforting.
