URGENT AND IMPORTANT SCAM WARNING
Dear FICPI Friends,

Bath, 26 March 2020: It has come to our attention that scammers are trying, again, to extract money from FICPI members by pretending to be Julian Crump, FICPI President.

Just today, a number of FICPI members received emails purporting to be from me which asked for their urgent assistance.  These emails did not originate from me and were fraudulent.

I am sending this message through as many social media channels as I can to alert as many FICPI members as possible of this illegal activity.

Please ignore any messages of this kind that you may receive and under no circumstance act on its contents or engage with the scammer.

I copy below a sample of the kind of email received for your reference:

Please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

If you have been affected, please contact me at julian.crump@ficpi.org.

Strong bonds of collegiality and mutual support, especially at difficult times such as we are all experiencing at present, are the hallmark of FICPI. However, FICPI officers will never ask colleagues for personal assistance in the name of FICPI. If in doubt, please always contact the person using known contact details.

Julian Crump
FICPI President
