The Co-Op at 1st

There is no doubt, these are hard times that we are all going through. The Co-Op at 1st's main mission is to empower our community. Although we are unable to do that in our normal ways at the moment, we are still here to help! Thank you to our amazing volunteers and hard-working employees that are working to keep us running. See below for what we have going on currently, what we have done in the last week, and other tools to help you and your family get through this time. Don't forget: We are here for you!
Emergency Food Program
This week we started our Emergency Food Program to help feed children in the community who may be going hungry due to school closures or loss of work for the family. We are happy to announce that we handed out over 550 meals this week!!! If your family is struggling please use this service to help lower the stress you may be feeling during this time. We recommend that you get here as early as possible as we have been running out every day this week!

Our market is still open for normal hours. We still have a lot of items that are sold out at grocery stores including toilet paper, hand sanitizer, fresh produce, dairy products, pasta and more! As of right now we still have toilet paper. Our market accepts SNAP as well. If you have any needs from The Market but are reluctant to go in pubic please contact Matthew by email matthew@boulters5280urbanmarket.com or by phone (720)885-8618. He can help you with setting up a curbside pick up an order for no additional cost.

Market Hours:
Tuesday through Saturday
11:00am-7:00pm
Energy Assistance Program
The Co-Op at 1st is a partner of the Energy Outreach Colorado (EOC) Program. We have the resources to help community members with their electricity/gas bills. This is a program we have year-round but realize it is especially important during these times.

Please Contact Alyssa Angel for any questions or to set up an appointment.

Don't forget about taking care of yourself!

Being under a stay-at-home order can be stressful. It is important to try to get a routine going and making sure to spend some time outside. The stay-at-home order does not mean you can not go outside. You are still allowed to hang out in your yard or go on walks. If you are able to, try to make it a point to spend 30 minutes to an hour outside every day.

It is important that you physically take care of yourself but also mentally. Try meditating more often to help lower stress and anxiety levels. Here is an example of a great meditation video I use to get me through these times.
Other Ideas of things to do to add into your daily routine that you can do under the stay-at-home Order:
  • Organize/Clean a different room or space everyday
  • Read a book (You can pick up a free book from The Market while you are here shopping)
  • Relax (You can buy one of our Colorado Medicine Women bath bombs)
  • Meditate
  • Take a Walk
  • Home Work Outs
  • Write/Journal
  • Volunteer for our emergency food program at The Co-Op at 1st!

Volunteer
Volunteering for our Emergency Food Program is a great way to get through this time, get out of the house, and help your community. We are always accepting new volunteers. However, we ask that if you have ANY symptoms of a cold, flu, or COVID-19 that you stay home. We also ask if you live or are in contact with any high risk individuals that you stay home. We appreciate your willingness to help but we will have more volunteer opportunities throughout the year. You can also help by donating on our website.
