Events

We organize and participate in many events as a chapter. We will occasionally feature a few events in our emails, but check out our website and calendar for everything you can get involved in.

Week of Prayer

Time: April 5th (Palm Sunday) to noon on April 12th (Easter Sunday).

Each day material will be posted in the School Days Group-Me chat with materials to encourage you to spend time with God. Each day will have a theme to it, along with topics to pray about and different ideas how to diversify your prayer life. We will be one of many chapters taking part of this event so join us and other campuses across the Midwest in this prayer movement.

Announcments

WitComs

As we find ourselves separated for the rest of the academic quarter, it's all the more important to stay connected. If you are looking for a group to be a part of that meets regularly each week, reach out to one of our Small Group leaders or contact Brittany to get connected.

Prayer Hotline

The prayer team and some other leaders of the chapter have created a Prayer Hotline for everyone in the chapter to use. If at any point during our extended break you need someone to pray for you or just need someone to talk to, feel free to reach out to anyone on this list. Please remember that the people on this list are still students so you may not get an immediate response, however we will get back to you asap.

A Note From Nikky Weise

Hello friends from all over!

As individuals and as a chapter, let us acknowledge the strangeness, unknowns, and difficulties we have been facing the past few weeks regarding the effects of the COVID-19. We have had plans, events, and hopes changed, altered, or canceled. There are griefs and tension. There are additional burdens and hurts. But...

“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NLT)

In this time of isolation, when it’s easy to turn to other temptations for comfort, I encourage you to place roots down near our loving, just, and promise-keeping God. Although things will look different, there are online opportunities for you to engage with God through witnessing community bible studies, Fusion, church services, and your own personal devotion and quiet time. (Need a starting place for a quiet time? I found Psalm 77 and 2 Chronicles 20:12-17 applicable.)

In this email, I am excited to introduce you to our new leadership team for 2020-2021. This team has a deep love and passion for Jesus and sharing the gospel, and I have already been so encouraged by their hope and diligent hard work to pray and plan for this next quarter.

So with that, I ask you to pray and have lots of grace for this new team, the other leaders and members of our chapter, our MSOE campus, our teachers, our health care workers, our grocery store workers, and anyone made in God’s image, especially yourself.

Please remember: The Holy Spirit never stops working. Jesus already won. The Father’s timing is perfect. Take a deep breath and trust.

With love and God’s blessing,

Nikky Weise

Former MSOE IVCF President

2020-2021 Leadership Team

Our Vision as a Team

Our team is committed to serving and growing a healthy community by modeling our lifestyles after Jesus. We desire to seek after God’s heart by being in the Word, growing in prayer, accountability, and evangelism, so every person in every corner of the MSOE campus may be given an opportunity to be brought into God’s family.

Caleb Hummel

Role
Chapter President

Reason for serving on LT
I serve on LT because I love to help others learn more about God and how we can serve Him.

Brittany Steinman

Role
WitCom Coordinator

Reason for serving on LT
Through serving on LT I hope to help encourage the formation of relationships within and outside of Intervarsity to help grow the Kingdom of God. Along with this I hope to help leaders grow and develop WitComs in a way that encourages people to be reading their Bibles and growing their faith.  Overall my main goal through my role is to be supporting the leaders of the chapter to the best of my ability so that we as a chapter can continue sharing the love of God!

Maria Clifford

Role
Community Coordinator

Reason for serving on LT
Serving on LT this past year has grown me in in my faith and relationship with God very much. It has also challenged me in various thought processes and my responsibility as a servant of God. I have loved serving and growing on LT as a woman of God and am excited to continue to do so. I am passionate about seeing others connect with Jesus and each other more, and I hope to serve the chapter with this mindset this next year!

Nolan Jome

Role
Communications Coordinator

Reason for Serving on LT
I never expected to be involved much in a Christian organization in college, but the community in IV made me feel welcome right away. I am thankful for the experiences I've had, and I want to be able to continue to support that for others with what I can do for the chapter.

Jonathan Wagenknecht

Role
Communication Coordinator

Reason for serving on LT
The minute I met some members of this chapter at a summer event a few months before my Freshman year started, I knew this was a community that I wanted to not only be a part of, but contribute to as much as I could. What draws me to serving on LT most is the opportunity to connect everyone in this chapter to what we are doing as a community and ensuring that we constantly improve how we go about reaching out to those who are not members of the chapter.
