A Note From Nikky Weise
Hello friends from all over!
As individuals and as a chapter, let us acknowledge the strangeness, unknowns, and difficulties we have been facing the past few weeks regarding the effects of the COVID-19. We have had plans, events, and hopes changed, altered, or canceled. There are griefs and tension. There are additional burdens and hurts. But...
“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NLT)
In this time of isolation, when it’s easy to turn to other temptations for comfort, I encourage you to place roots down near our loving, just, and promise-keeping God. Although things will look different, there are online opportunities for you to engage with God through witnessing community bible studies, Fusion, church services, and your own personal devotion and quiet time. (Need a starting place for a quiet time? I found Psalm 77 and 2 Chronicles 20:12-17 applicable.)
In this email, I am excited to introduce you to our new leadership team for 2020-2021. This team has a deep love and passion for Jesus and sharing the gospel, and I have already been so encouraged by their hope and diligent hard work to pray and plan for this next quarter.
So with that, I ask you to pray and have lots of grace for this new team, the other leaders and members of our chapter, our MSOE campus, our teachers, our health care workers, our grocery store workers, and anyone made in God’s image, especially yourself.
Please remember: The Holy Spirit never stops working. Jesus already won. The Father’s timing is perfect. Take a deep breath and trust.
With love and God’s blessing,
Nikky Weise
Former MSOE IVCF President
