Inside this Issue!

We acknowledge there is a rapidly unfolding public health response to COVID-19 and would like to thank those services and staff who have been working tirelessly to respond, and to prepare for continued response to this virus. We are appreciative of those who are not only trying to support their own family, but who are also there for other individuals and families in our community.

Central Hume PCP has put together a COVID-19 webpage resource providing information on prevention, social connection & mental wellbeing. It has links to local information and information for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) groups and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It won’t be static as we will review and add as we come across resources.

We hope it will be a beneficial resource to the communities across Central Hume.

The current COVID-19 pandemic has seen the community as a whole and the legal sector placed in increasingly difficult and uncertain times.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people are unfortunately at high risk of contracting COVID-19 due to chronic disease and other health conditions within our communities.  We as an organisation are taking all necessary steps to ensure we work together with our stakeholders and other agencies to support our clients and community during this crisis.

We are following all Government advice and protocols including new developments as they arise and will continue to take every precaution possible.

The Victorian Government is developing a plan for Benalla West Estate and wants to hear from the Benalla community!

In late 2019 the Department of Health and Human Services asked the community what they like about Benalla West and what they want improved. They have taken on what the community have said and developed a set of key directions. These key directions will guide the future plan for the Estate. You can read more about these in the project update or by visiting the project website at https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/benalla-west-estate.

The Department of Health and Human Services are asking the Benalla community to help refine the key directions and confirm the issues by completing an online survey. If you need help completing the survey, call the Department of Health and Human Services project hotline on (03) 9021 0681 to arrange a time to speak to a project team member. By completing the survey, you’ll go into the draw to win one of three $50 gift cards.

Survey closes Monday 13 April 2020
