We Hope To See You At The Certified Farmers' Market This Weekend!

For those of you who've lost track (don't feel bad, the whole calendar feels slippery these days) tomorrow is Saturday, which means our Palm Springs Certified Farmers's Market will be open in the morning! We'll have the same hours as always - 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - and we'll use the new modified protocol we fine-tuned during our first week back in business. Based on what we've learned here's what to expect if you're thinking about joining us;

Tips For Shopping the CFM in Uncertain Times:

1.) Send ONE person from your household. When things get back to normal, we'll party at the Market like old days. For now, let your "chosen one" bring back the produce and the news from the outside world.

2.) Feast your eyes on our produce, point out what you'd like and the farmer can put it in your bag. Think of it as full service shopping. That's the way they shop in Paris and everything's more fun when it's Frenchified.

3.) Please come and go only at our ONE designated entrance/exit. That way we can make sure there are only 50 people shopping at a time. Following this rule insures that we can continue to share our good things with you.

4.) Look for the bubbles. We have created "personal space" circles at 6' intervals to wait safely to get into the Market and to do your shopping at the booths.

We also hope to see you in La Quinta on Sunday!

This Week's Fresh Pick!

Cara Cara Oranges are this week’s Fresh Pick of the Week from the Coachella Valley Certified Farmers’ MarketsCara Cara Oranges are a natural hybrid navel orange - the result of a cross between a Washington Navel Orange with a Brazilian Bahia Navel Orange. They are a medium sized orange, and can be quickly identified by their red-pink flesh that is distinctly different from the deep red flesh of Blood Oranges or the more common color of “orange” oranges.

Cara Cara Oranges are quite sweet, due to their lower than usual acid content, and have a flavor that tends to be quite complex, with hints of red fruits, like raspberries or blackberries. They are also juicier than other navel orange varieties, making them a popular choice for kids.

Did you know: Cara Cara Oranges were first discovered in the mid-70s in Venezuela. Now, they’re largely grown in California and reach their peak season between December and April.
