Dear GGAC Family,
As the threat of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads, we at Give Girls A Chance (GGAC) are thinking about our girls and others around the world who are most vulnerable to its impacts. Those for whom we work every day to help provide support and stability through access to education and skills training. In concern for the people we serve, our partners, volunteers and their families, all of our programs at Give Girls A Chance have currently been put on hold until further notice.
While school-age-children around the world have access to digital technologies and the internet are able to continue their studies and remain connected to the outside world, that won't be possible for our girls. The knowledge that there are millions of children around the world in vulnerable situations whose education must be put on hold indefinitely, because they lack access to these technologies and innovations, disheartens us. Now more than ever, we are revisiting GGAC’s digital inclusion agenda and exploring ways to harness the potential of digital technologies to deliver services to our girls and our partners with some level of consistency.
During this shutdown, we are working hard on improving the capacity of our organization to deliver on its mission and engaging with different stakeholders via remote channels and digital platforms to stay informed and active.
Thank you to all for the support and encouragement you provide to us as we seek to build more productive lives for low-income girls and young women in Nigeria. We truly believe in and will continue working towards a future, where every child, regardless of their socioeconomic background, has access to the education they deserve and open a springboard to accessing wealth of opportunities.
