Greetings from Aillio

We hope everyone out there is okay. In Taiwan, we are fine. We are still coming to work everyday. Jonas is mostly focused on the "Bullseye" project, Matt's still handling support tickets, Francisco and Toni are shooting videos, and our engineering team is pushing forward with certification of the Bullet. Stepping into our office every morning, it is possible to pretend that nothing has changed these past few weeks. But we know how lucky we are...

Supporting Specialty Coffee

You probably already know that your local cafes and independent roasteries are struggling right now. If you love specialty coffee as much as we do and are in a position to help, you may be wondering what you can do to support your local scene.

Sprudge has released a series of articles about this very subject. Their suggestions include "virtual tips" for your favorite cafe, ordering home delivery from your favorite independent roaster, loading up on coffee merch, and pulling the trigger on a coffee subscription.

They've also recently added a map of roasters that are #stillroasting. If you happen to be a commercial roaster yourself, you can pin your own business to the map.

Error 256

In other news, you may remember that there was a flaw in a batch of V2 boards manufactured late last year, causing affected Bullets to cease heating and produce error 256. We just wanted to report that these errors are no longer being reported by users. Although we were never able to pin the problem down 100%, it seems that we were correct in our assessment. The steps we took to resolve the problem were successful, and it seems like the vast majority of affected boards have already been discovered and replaced.

Aillio Bullet R1 Usage Survey

Thanks to everyone who took our usage survey. It was a big help for us. We've selected three survey-takers at random to receive 3 kg of nice beans from our friends at Tri-Up Coffee.

So congratulations to Maximilian from Austria, Anthony from Sweden, and Troy from Taiwan!

#stayhomeandroast

We've noticed that many of you are roasting a lot of coffee on your Bullets while stuck at home. In this era of social distancing, we suggest a new hashtag for Facebook and Instagram "roast posts", so that we can find some new kindred spirits online:

#stayhomeandroast

We'll definitely be checking the tag in the coming days and weeks.

Here's our submission, posted to our Instagram.

That's all for now everyone. Stay at home, wash your hands, and keep drinking great coffee.
