Newsletter - 3 April 2020
Vol. 7. Issue 27
Following guidance from the Dutch authorities earlier this week, it was decided that school closure would be extended until May 6th 2020. Students will continue with their Virtual School Experience until this time. You can find resources to help with home-learning on the new section on our website by clicking here.

This week, our Director met online with our PTSA and Student Council members to discuss initial feedback in regards to distance learning. We are keen to learn what is working and what could be improved. We have been working on both parent and student surveys and will send out the parent survey later today. Your early feedback is essential in allowing us to review and improve our virtual school experience to become the most effective it can be.

It was recently announced by the IB Organisation that this year's
IB Diploma Programme examinations have been cancelled world wide. Our Senior students will be awarded a Diploma or a Course Certificate which reflects their standard of work and will be based on students’ coursework and the established assessment expertise, rigour and quality control already built into the programmes. Our school will work very closely with the IBO and universities, and with students and parents, to ensure that no student is disadvantaged by these changes, particularly those who are awaiting IB Diploma results for their university placements.

As we come to the end of the third week of school closure, we are happy to share that the NAISR community is not just persevering through these unfortunate and unprecedented times, but continuing to thrive. It is heartwarming to see that our students, parents, teachers and staff are continuing to work so well together in this new but temporary reality and that we continue to "Be Ambitious" and adaptable in our pursuit of education. It is of the utmost importance to us that we continue to keep our community connected and headed towards a bright future.

Wishing you health and happiness and all the best from our family to yours.

While small class sizes, curriculum, family support, facilities and extra-curricular opportunities all play their part, it is the connection between an effective teacher and a pupil that really makes the difference in a student achieving to the best of their ability.  Read full blog >>>
