LATEST NEWS
  •  Numbers from the Community Connect forms returned so far include:
    • 34 residents self-isolating
    • 42 residents over 70 or at risk
    • 14 key workers
    • 46 volunteers
  • New symptoms to watch out for (as mentioned by a local GP so not yet formally from Government) that are being seen in patients with suspected Covid19 infection include loss of taste, feeling "washed out" and conjunctivitis.
  • Around 3,800 GPs have rejoined the medical register barely a week after the government activated emergency powers to ease growing workforce concerns, the GMC has revealed.

Any comments/suggestions/concerns please email us at:
MENTAL WELLBEING
We are all feeling a little anxious about how long the situation will last. It is especially difficult of you have children and have to keep them entertained. The Government has some excellent advice sheets and advises us all to get into a routine for each day and have a plan of things to do to help our mental fitness. You can read the specific suggestions for how to help children cope with the situation HERE

MEDICATION COLLECTIONS
We can confirm that if you have a repeat prescription from Deddington Health Centre
that is usually delivered then this service will continue.
We are making regular trips to local surgeries and many of our volunteers are offering to pick up medicines. Please contact Andy Anderson, our Aynho Connect Coordinator, who will be putting volunteers in touch with anyone who needs medication collected. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT PHARMACIES NEED A WEEKS NOTICE TO PROVIDE MEDICATION NOT ON FORMAL REPEAT PRESCRIPTION.
If you have email, please send a request for medication collection to
 andy.anderso@aynho.org or call 0330 113 6008.
Andy will then send a Pharmacy Collection Form for completion
LOCAL FACILITIES
The Post Office will be open in the Village Hall this TUESDAY 31st MARCH FROM 2pm.
There will be an entry, exit and queuing system to maintain social distances so please be patient and respect the procedures.
We have decided, in order to help exercise, to keep the playing field and tennis court open. PLEASE ENSURE YOU MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING AROUND THE TRACK AND GIVE WAY TO ELDERLY RESIDENTS, ESPECIALLY IF RIDING BIKES. We are seeing, we think, some residents from outside Aynho using the facilities. This should not be happening so we will be putting signs up to this effect.
CORONAVIRUS TESTS
Some manufacturers are selling products for the diagnosis of COVID-19 infection in community settings, such as pharmacies and online. The current view by PHE is that use of these products is not advised. Some of these products look for virus while others look for the body’s immune response to the virus. There is little information on the accuracy of the tests, or on how a patient’s antibody response develops or changes during COVID-19 infection. It is not known whether either a positive or negative result is reliable.
LOCK DOWN ACTIVITY
If you are looking for something to do, you can help digitise the UK’s rainfall records - it can help understanding climate change. Sign up and enter data at:
