My apologies for this late communciation.
At 8 pm tonight, Golf Australia has advised that all golf clubs and golf facilities in Victoria need to be closed as soon as practicable until April 13, 2020.
Consequently, effective immediately the Drouin Golf and Country Club is not open and this will be the case until April 13, 2020.
Course Closed for competition and social golf.
We have given our commitment to all members and staff that we would follow the government direction and interpretation given by Golf Australia. This is available at https://www.golf.org.au/covid-19.
This is disappointing to all of us who had hoped to enjoy golf this weekend and in the coming week. However, as previously advised this closure was expected. The difficulty is the notification is so late on a Friday evening, before the weekend.
Our advice is that in Victoria, organised and social play is not permissible during this time.
The Pro Shop and Clubhouse will also be closed during this period.
If there is any change to this Government and Golf Australia directive and as further information becomes available we will communicate with members.
We look forward to re-opening of the course as soon as possible. Please look after yourselves, wash your hands and keep your distancing.
