We're here to help you Stay Safe and Stay at home!

As South Africa enters into a 21-day lockdown on Thu March 26 at 23:59 to curb the Coronavirus spread, we at Johannesburg In Your Pocket are as determined as ever to share the best mix of cultural events (to be enjoyed online) and activities. These include awesome playlists by your favourite DJs to enjoy at home, recommended books to get you through isolation, virtual art events and more.

It is everyone's responsibility to stay home and help flatten the curve of this virus, and we have made it easy for you by bringing together all you need to know about how the city will run during lockdown.

Read on for this week's #lockdown list of things to enjoy while we all stay home and find all our #StayHome features online here.

Books
The great reads lockdown list

We asked the owners of our favourite independent bookshops to share their recommended reads to get you through the lockdown. Get your recommended titles from Book Circle Capital's Sewela Langeni,  Bridge Books' Griffin Shea and Love Books' Kate Rogan.
Playlists
Songs to get you through the week

To keep your spirits up throughout this lockdown we asked some of our favourite Joburg DJs for what's on their playlists. This week DJs Brett Dugmore of Mr Vinyl, Charles Leonard and Maria McCloy (pictured) share their top tracks to get you through the week.
Live music
The best concerts to stream online

The entire world may be staying at home, but that doesn't mean you can't watch a music concert. From live streamed DJ sets (by the likes of DJ Black Coffee, pictured) to intimate acoustic concerts and the world's biggest stars performing live at home in their pyjamas, here's where to watch the best online gigs this month
Art
SA art galleries go online

Virtual tours, online exhibition launches, live-streamed performance art, films, panel discussions, and 60-second Instagram art talks, here's a look at the innovative ways in which South African arts are going digital. Pictured is a sculpture by Marlene Hettie the Norval Foundation, Cape Town, from SMAC Gallery and Hylography Studio.
