Cougar Family,

We hope you and your families are doing well. During these uncertain times, it’s critically important that we all come together to support each other. We are missing our students, teachers, parents and community at large.  Click here to see a video from the Cougar Staff.

Sincerely,

Principal Marion & AP Arnold

To show our support for the brave people keeping us safe during this time, please create drawings, posters, signs and/or letters to show your gratitude to the doctors, nurses, other hospital personnel and to the first responders working everyday to keep us safe and healthy.

Take a picture or a short video with your artwork and e-mail it to henryrclissodelementary@gmail.com By Thursday morning so we can share them!

Save Your Pull Tabs for Us!

Little things like pop tabs can make a big difference! Help support families and children through our Pop Tab program by collecting and donating the aluminum tabs you pull to open soda, soup, and other cans.

Tabs will be collected once we return to school!
Please note that outside of food distribution, all CPS schools and playgrounds are closed to the public. The playgrounds in particular pose a high risk for transmission and it is critically important that we take these measures seriously and do our part to keep ourselves and our communities healthy

We understand your concerns about the play. Right now our greatest concern is for everyone to remain safe and healthy. At this point, the play will need to be rescheduled.

We will make final decisions once we return to normal operations.
Class of 2020, we would love to hear your good news.  Have you and your parents selected a high school?  Share your news with us on Facebook (Henry R. Clissold Elementary School) or Twitter (@clissoldcougars).

Application Timeline
As previously scheduled, high school application results will still be released on Friday, March 27, but we have extended
the acceptance window to give families more time to make their decisions.
● March 27: Round 1 application results released.
● April 22: Deadline to accept or decline offers.
● April 27: Waitlist process opens.

If you have signed a proxy form for your child’s counselor to complete the accept/decline process on your behalf, be
sure to communicate with your child’s counselor about your decision before they take any actions. Since most CPS staff
are currently working remotely due to school closures, the best way to initiate this conversation is to email your child’s
counselor. Please refer to the staff directory on your school’s website or contact the main office for assistance.

The CPS Office of Access and Enrollment is working to assess the impact of school closures on the remainder of the
GoCPS high school application timeline and will communicate any other changes or adjustments as soon as possible.

Accessing Results
Online applicants will receive their first-round results on March 27 via their online GoCPS account between 5:00 p.m.
and 11:59 p.m. CST. Paper applicants will receive a notification letter sent via U.S. mail to the home address on their
application. In addition, paper applicants can view their results in an online GoCPS account that has been opened for
them by the Office of Access and Enrollment using the email address or phone number on their paper application.

*Please note that the GoCPS application site will be down from March 24 – March 27 at 5:00 p.m. CST as we prepare to
release results, so you will not be able to access the site until offers are posted.*

If you have questions about how to access your offers, please review the full text of a recent robocall to you with those
details here, or contact the Office of Access and Enrollment at 773-553-2060 or gocps@cps.edu.

Planning Resources
The GoCPS site includes many resources and instructions to help families navigate the offer acceptance process,
including videos with step-by-step directions on how to complete next steps. The site also has detailed Frequently Asked
