Stories in the Time of Coronavirus...
Dear Friends,
Greetings from Broomfield, Colorado, where my husband and I, with our dog Rosie, are pretty strictly self-isolating.
We are in strange and uncharted times, filled with uncertainty.
Like so many all over the world, performers and workshop leaders like me saw our livelihood vanish overnight with schools, festivals, conferences and other live events cancelled everywhere.
We are urged (begged, by medical personnel) to engage in "social distancing" - Let's see it as "physical distancing, but social connecting!"...
Physical distancing gives us hope to quell the coronoavirus pandemic, and social connecting helps us to cope and even to thrive in the meantime!
Perhaps now more than ever we need our stories to hold hope, bring comfort as well as joy and inspiration, and to express our realization that we are all connected and dependent on each other in our common humanity.
THIS SATURDAY, MARCH 28 there will be a FREE ONLINE STORYTELLING FESTIVAL! (2-6 pm Eastern Daylight Time - adjust for your local time zone)
I myself will be telling a Spanish-English bilingual story in the 3:15 pm (EDT) time slot, joining with other storytellers from around the US and beyond. This festival will be family-friendly, truly for ALL AGES - meaning appropriate for kids, but not "just" for kids!
All the details below.
I hope you can gather your family and join us! Please share far and wide!
Be well, stay safe, and engage in physical distancing (our medical professionals on the front line need that from us!) - Pam Faro
