Vine Leaves Press March Round-Up

Ann S. Epstein’s short story, “A Mule of One’s Own,” was published in Orca (2020, Issue #3). “A Mule of One’s Own” is about a pack horse librarian who delivers books and hope to Kentucky’s rural families in the Depression while her own family falls apart because her job threatens her unemployed husband.

Her craft essay “It’s Not Your Story: Citizenship Rules for Writers Groups” was recently published by Black Fox Literary Magazine. The article acknowledges that while some literary tenets beg to be broken, writers group etiquette rules are worth following to derive the benefits and avoid the pitfalls of membership.

But it’s mostly about a marriage and a B-17 bomber that both came crashing down in a tiny mountain village in Italy.

Gina's memoir, The Angle of Flickering Light, is narrated by a woman who seeks, who revisits and reflects upon the peculiarities of her own origin.

Both books will be released in 2021.
