Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen:

Just an update. Please find attached a statement, issued today, from the Provincetown Select Board Chair.  Kudos to the Chair for a thoughtful and bold statement.

In sum and substance, most — not all, but most— of the governance of Provincetown are doing their best, in most uncharted waters, to provide calm and to provide accurate information. The message is clear, at least from most who are informed and acting within the true values and sprit of Provincetown — part-timers/second homeowners (whatever label you wish)— should feel welcomed. You are not banned from your homes.

As previously stated, however, use good common sense and exercise good social responsibility. Things to keep in mind:  Bunker down if in Provincetown. Stay inside except for essentials and exercise.  When outside, practice physical distancing. Understand that you must be mindful of your fellow community members who are vulnerable and in risk groups. You should also be aware that if you are in a risk group or have a pre-existing condition, Outer Cape is operating at off-season capacity.  And last, travel restrictions in place for where you are coming from could change.

We are part of Provincetown.  Not tourists, not visitors. We remain, and will continue to remain, a part of a what has professed to be — and hopefully will actually continue to be — a welcoming, open-minded, and kind community.

Pat
