Asynchronous assignments:
Art 1
Nothing new, just choose three of the projects that were sent to you over the last two weeks. Also, complete the writing assignment below that was given out the first week.
Go to the Google Arts & Culture website. Click on ‘Explore’ and then ‘Artists’. Spend 10 minutes exploring the different artists featured there. When you click on an artist you need to scroll down to see examples of their work.
Choose an artist that you like and are interested in. Preferably in your sketchbook or on a separate piece of paper, write about the artist you have chosen. Their name can be the title of your work. Describe what their work is like. (Is it a painting or sculpture or something else) Describe it in detail and try to find out what media the artist uses e.g. oil paint or charcoal. Research further on the internet and see what you can find out.
Art2/3 and AP Studio Art:
Nothing new, but we are wondering if you guys need a check-in. Let us know how the process is going.
- For AP 2D/3D/Drawing only: The College Board has updated the portfolio requirements: Selected Works: 3 works required (instead of 5) to be submitted digitally + Sustained Investigation: 10 works required (instead of 15). Also digital submission due date extended for all students to May 26 at 11:59 p.m. ET. This is the current status on the portfolio submission. It may change in the future. We will keep you posted!
- For Art 2/3 students only: Work on and finish your five to seven piece collection of work that is connected by a common idea or theme. Your work must be visually related and compelling and be ready to show for the Spring Art Show in April.
Photo & Graphic Design:
The theme of this week is accountability, so please make sure you are uploading photos of your projects each week to your class folder. Double-check that the folder for these assignments is inside your course folder and is labeled "Creative Quarantine." This week, revisit an assignment that you chose from the past 2 weeks and repeat it. Create a short GDoc reflecting on how you approached it differently when reworking the same concept (include images). Don't forget to fill this out.
