Online Worship Service for March 29

Join us on Sunday, March 29th @ 11 am for a virtual worship service followed by virtual coffee hour.  We suggest that you have a chalice or candle close by your screen so that we can all light our chalices at the same time. We will share Joys and Sorrows in the Zoom Chat Box.

Silent Auction Ends this Sunday, March 29 at 10pm
If you haven’t visited the site we think you will be surprised at the many unique items and, if you have, it’s worth it to visit again. We have made many additions during the month of March.

All winners will receive an e-mailed statement and recommendations for the best payment method during the quarantine. We will make arrangements to pick up and deliver your items on an individual basis, most likely to your doorstep.

A lot of generosity and hard work  from our members and our fundraising team have made this event possible for the benefit of UUCJ. Please take the opportunity to play a part by visiting the site and bidding!  Have questions or need help? Contact Darlene: fundraising@uucj.org.  Here’s the link:

Centering Breaths

Call to Worship “Five am in the Pinewoods” by Mary Oliver

Unison Chalice Lighting “We kindle this chalice flame to remind ourselves of the light of truth, the warmth of community, and the fire of commitment.” (adapted from Elizabeth Selle Jones)

Joys and Sorrows (Use Chat)

Reading from The Language of the Heart by A Powell Davies

Sermon Learning How to Pray – Rev. Roberta Finkelstein

Guided Meditation

Benediction from The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran

Unison Chalice Extinguishing  “We extinguish this flame, but not the light of truth, the warmth of community, or the fire of commitment. These we carry in our hearts until we are together again.” Elizabeth Selle Jones

Unison Affirmation “Love is the doctrine of this church, the quest for truth is its sacrament, and service is its prayer. To dwell together in peace, to seek knowledge in freedom, to serve humanity in fellowship, to the end that all souls shall grow into harmony with the divine, thus do we covenant with one another.”

Virtual Social Hour
Immediately following the service, those who wish to remain will be able to participate in a virtual coffee/social hour. Depending on the number of people who wish to participate, we will create small breakout rooms where people can converse with each other.
