Hey Trail Buddies!

Thanks for checking out Butterfly Outdoors Social Distancing Spring edition. Most of us are finding isolation challenging in some ways, but you’ve probably found some silver linings too, such as hanging out in your pjs all day, or binge watching Tiger King.  In this week’s newsletter, we’ll share upcoming activities and ideas to help you enjoy springtime even if you’re home alone.  Here’s a quick look at what’s included this week:
  • Sunrise photo contest winners, and their beautiful photos!!!
  • Ideas for celebrating special occasions at home
  • Upcoming Earth Week activities
We hope you enjoy our content, and we are working hard to provide content that benefits women, families, and explorers of all kinds.  If there is something special you’d like Butterfly Outdoors to help you discover please email ButterflyOutdoors@gmail.com.  We really want to make a positive impact on our readers lives during this period of struggle, and insights from others can go along way into making this possible.

In the meantime, stay well, get outdoors, and follow us on social media!

Happy Trails and Be Well!

Congratulations Contest Winners!!!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our sunrise photo contest, from your “likes” and “shares” to your photo submissions!  We’d hoped to have more photos to enjoy, but fortunately the ones we got are pretty great!  While any of these would be a wonderful contribution to our Facebook cover photo for the rest of April our 1st place winner is a sunrise scene from Monte Sano mountain.
1st Place - Beth Barry-Gauthier, “Monte Sano Sunrise”
2nd Place - Jodi Ridgeway, “Morning Sky”
3rd Place - Blaire Baxter, “White Pelicans of Joe Wheeler”

Keep a lookout for our next photo contest, and your chance to win a prize just like these contestants!

Two of our winners were photographed at or near Alabama State Parks.  These beautiful places are still open to enjoy using social distancing methods, and Butterfly Outdoors is working closely with the parks to provide some special virtual content soon!!!

Enjoy Special Occasions at Home

If you’re feeling deflated trying to plan a special celebration during the Covid-era, you’re not alone.  Spring is peak time for anniversaries and graduation parties, and we all know birthdays never stop.  Luckily there are great apps like Zoom and Houseparty to help you share your special event with friends and family, but what about a romantic dinner or date night with no babysitter or place to go?

About two years ago Butterfly Outdoors posted a blog article called Dating Outdoors, and most of the tips and dating ideas there also work for social distance dates.  At least, for couples living together.  For more ideas on kids birthdays, anniversaries, and other special events click here.

We are teaming up with our friends at Leaf in Creek to bring activities and content all weeklong.  Earth Day is April 22nd, but we will be sharing content everyday from April 18th to April 25th.

By joining the event you’ll get a front row to guest readings, Live streams from Butterfly Outdoors, and activities and information to enjoy with at home. Throughout the week we’ll provide content for families, home-a-loners, and couples, so RSVP for the fun!

What’s next...

  • Get ready for BUG WEEK!!! April 27th - May 1st
  • Surprise news from the Butterfly Outdoors team
