Dear friends of MMLT,

I am writing to let you know how we are managing in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

MMLT is postponing all planned public events until further notice. However, our work continues protecting our local conservation areas and evaluating new acquisitions. We will not lose sight of this vital work, even in these trying times.
The trails on our public properties remain open for individual or family members use only. We are posting signs at the entrances to remind visitors of the health restrictions that apply while they enjoy the early signs of Spring. In the coming weeks you may see one or two volunteers clearing trails of winter damage.  A wave or a shout of encouragement would be welcome but please give the volunteers their space.

MMLT’s Board is considering options for holding our Annual General Meeting by electronic means, although the meeting will not include a speaker.  There are certain requirements we need to meet such as ensuring that all participants can communicate and discussions can be held.  We will be in touch as soon as plans are finalized.

Our administrator, Carolyn Piche is working remotely while checking the office as necessary. She can be reached at cpiche@mmlt.ca and phone messages will be retrieved from 613-253-2722. We will continue to communicate with you through our newsletter, Facebook and website mmlt.ca.

I hope that you and your families will weather these uncertain times unharmed.

Best wishes,

Bob Betcher
President, MMLT
