Nana and kids Jack, Betty and Buddy spent every summer in their sea side cottage. Pop Pop, who worked in the city during the week, rode the train down on weekends. He would later tell us the story of how, during Prohibition, he packed his suitcase full of liquor to take home. The "History of Wildwood" states that the harbors were a bootleggers dream.
Through the years, upgrades were made to the house on Leaming Avenue,  mostly by their son Jack and Betty's Husband Jim. Continue Reading Here.

Wildwood Memories by Chris Pohle
My parents purchased a house in Grassy Sounds back in the early 1980's. Growing up there was a blast. We swam, fished, crabbed, and played in that mud everyday. One of my favorite memories was taking bike rides to Wldwood with my father. It was quite the challenge getting over that Old rickety bridge entering into North Wildwood when the cars rode by but somehow we both survived. The highlight of our ride was the .99 cent hoagies at Shea's 17th St Market. I know they may have not been the best hoagies I could get, but they were always so delicious to me. My father grew up during the depression so he always knew how to find a good deal. We would then continue to ride the boardwalk and head back to Grassy for a quick swim to cool off.
