Transitioning to Quarterly Updates

Due to the high volume of emails you all receive, Anna's Friends has decided to transition to quarterly e-updates: April, July, October, and January.

Letter from Yvonne
  Hello Anna's Friends!

I am asked frequently, Is Anna someone you know?
When the idea to create this series came to me, the first
name I thought of was, Anna, my great grandmother's name.
I remember a time that we were visiting her -- I was ten years
old -- and had traveled all the way from Florida to New Jersey.
Although we were not with her long, I swelling in my soul
brought tears to my eyes the morning we left to head back to Florida.

As children, my sister and brother and I didn't have the luxury of having her nearby. That morning, although I didn't know it at the time, was the last time I would see her. I knew there was something profoundly different about her.

As I grew older and learned more about her from my aunt, I knew why I had that wonderful feeling the morning we headed back to Florida. This woman loved children so much that when they left her presence, they knew they were loved; they could feel that she was genuine and that they were safe in her presence.

How appropriate, I thought, since Anna's Friends is about learning to love with our God-given motivational gifts.

Many Blessings,
Yvonne, Creator of Anna's Friends

Anna's Friends Series for Sunday School
Now Sunday School Teachers can Include
Anna's Friends in Their Lessons

CURRICULUM FOR SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS

Anna’s Friends for Educators is a revolutionary tool for Sunday School Teachers. There are currently three (3) curriculum tool kits available:

Kindergarten to 2nd grade: An Educators Guide to Student's Motivational Gifts
3rd to 5th grade: Discover Your Student's Motivational Gifts
6th to 12th grade: Helping Teens Develop Their God-Given Gifts

These are available as individual programs or in a TOOL KIT that combines the three curriculum (K-12th) for Christian schools and churches.

Honor the GIFTS within every child and EMPOWER them to THRIVE.

Why would you want to include the Anna's Friends Program into your Sunday School Lessons? Every human being on earth is motivated to love based on their God-given gift(s). These gifts are given to help us manage relationships in love with those we know and those we don't know. Each of us possess certain personality and character traits that motivate us to act in diverse ways. These traits are necessary to facilitate specific aspects of ministry with others. The motivational gifts described in Romans 12:6-8 are operational in everything we do. They are a with us—a part of us—from birth to grave and can be recognized at a very early age if we know what to look for.

These gifts are multi-purposed: to move humanity forward in faith; to bring us to wholeness; to support one another’s journey; to help us interact with others in peace and harmony. The motivation to express these gifts comes from an inner drive that we all have; to express love. There are seven distinctly different purposes based on the needs of the recipient(s) of the gift. We each possess some aspects of all seven of the gifts, however, we are motivated by one primary gift, sometimes two. That gift will be our focus and move us in the direction that God intends us to personally go.

The GOALS of this curriculum are to:

HELP CHILDREN:

• Instill a positive self-esteem in your students.
• Discover each childs’ predominate motivational gift.
• Help each child understand their unique character traits given by God.
• Help children understand why they are different from their friends.
• Give students a platform to continue learning about their gifts.
• Instill a sense of value for their peers and other humans.

HELP EDUCATORS:

• Help educators understand why the children respond to others as they do.
• Empower educators to better guide their student’s when conflict occurs.
• Create a more harmonious classroom atmosphere.

Share this newsletter with your colleagues for updates and progress on this much needed teacher’s guide and curriculum.

Suggestions for Classroom Use - Read-Alouds, Time for Independent Reading, and Share Circles.
Extension Activities - Reading, Spelling, Creative Writing, and Art.
A Chat with Yvonne Williams, the Creator of Anna's Friends - Q & A based on the most frequently asked questions.

Reed and Alice Kennecott, heirs and managers of the Silverlake Orphanage, struggle to keep the doors open of the 45-year-old home for children. One wintry night, upon hearing the prayers of Mary Kennecott, co-founder of the New England town of Silverlake and the orphanage, a mysterious little stranger appears on their door steps carrying only a suitcase and a sassy attitude that ultimately turns their lives upside down and backwards. Little Miss Emma, on assignment from God, struggles to convince Miss Hoopy, overseer of the children, that she can indeed act like a human child as she works to fulfill her assignment to save the orphanage and answer Miss Mary’s prayers. Lucas and Serinda assist their protégé teaching her how to act like a little orphan girl, ultimately turning unbelief to faith and mending hearts along the way.
