Dear Artist,

You know artists work alone much of the time.  We still need community so I am really NOW missing the Light Chasers.  I thought I would write with some hopefully helpful and hopeful information:

JOSEPH MC GURL WORKSHOP

We obviously had to cancel Joe's workshop.  And if you are thinking you will go to the Cape Cod one in September I am sorry to tell you that it is sold out and has 9 people on the waiting list.  A few folks could not make the new dates so we have a FEW openings.

Here is our new schedule:

Joseph McGurl Workshop
Dates:  December 7-9 2020
Place:  Plein Air Spots around Sarasota
Meet and Greet and Light Chaser Demo to be announced next Fall.
Cost:  $595  Joe's prices have not changed at all.
To sign up:  Patriciamcgurl <patriciamcgurl@aol.com>

Joe is painting for a show in NYC.  The catalog MIGHT be on line!  If  it is, I will let you know.

Give yourself something to look forward to......Joe's workshop sells out every year so jump on this one!  And check out some of Joe's work at his website https://www.josephmcgurl.com/

DO YOU SEW?  Know someone who does?

Can you make a FACE MASK?  Many of our health care workers NEED face masks yesterday.  If you sew, if you know people who sew, if you know sewing groups, please PASS THIS ON TO THEM today.  Lots of artists also sew....so of course, we thought of all of you!

If you don't sew, no matter.... just trying to reach the ones that do and have fabric at home and would LIKE to do this.

Here is a LINK to PATTERN and VIDEO to make face masks that meet CDC guidelines:

Can you help by letting the sewers and sewing organizations, quilters, ....well everyone that might help make masks!

Save a life.  Help a sewer find out about making  a mask that meets the CDC Guidelines.  Tell someone else how.  It all counts!

If your hospital does not currently need these?  It may be because they have not been hit.  And they may not have been hit because their population may not have been tested.  This started because a hospital in a little place in Georgia DID get hit.  When they ran out of masks the people in their community made home made masks.  It saved lives.

It's just one idea......but it is an idea that is quickly turning into a national movement.

FINANCIAL RELIEF FOR ARTISTS:

I don't know if this will be helpful, but it was sent to me.....and if I can help ONE artist, it would make my day!  Here is a link to Financial Resources for Artists during these tough times.

I do get lots of letters asking how I am doing.  How are you all doing?  I have pneumonia and so am self quarantined.  Pam is still in a wheel chair and they have postponed her surgery at Mass General as they gear up for the virus patients.  The dogs are great and we would love to hear from you.  Stay connected!  And send us those paintings!

Here is one more inspirational painting by the great Joseph McGurl!  Thank you Joe for coming to Sarasota and doing a workshop for us HERE!  Are we lucky or what?

Paint! Paint!
Terry
