Official Statement on Extended Closure Due to COVID-19

Our Adoption Center and Office
will be closed until May 1, 2020

As the World Health Organization has now declared the Corona Virus (COVID-19) a global pandemic, we are extending the closure of our adoption center to help keep our volunteers, clients and community safer. We hope to reopen May 1, 2020. We are closely monitoring this situation to do our part in the prevention of the spread.

- During this time our phone lines will still be available and we will work to pick up messages and respond to your emails as best we can.
Thank you for your understanding and being patient.

SILENT AUCTION + ADOPTION EVENT
Due to Covid-19 concerns, we are sorry to say that we will be postponing our Silent Auction and Adoption event that was to be held at Oscar’s Alehouse on March 29th. This event will be rescheduled for a later date, so stay tuned! If you have any questions or comments, please contact AngelaG@awlfc.org. Over the next few days, Angela will be contacting those of you who have donated items for the auction with additional information.

OFFER SUPPORT AND SUPPLIES
Check with your local shelter or rescue to see how you can support them during this crisis. Your generosity will be gratefully accepted, particularly during this stressful time. Consider donating supplies, through your local animal shelter and other agencies like human food banks.

For people struggling financially, pet support services are more important than ever during this crisis. Local families are being hit hard with loss of income and no paid time off from work. Currently, and in the coming months, there will be additional financial struggles and barriers for large numbers of people in accessing resources and affordable care and supplies for pets, and therefore a huge demand on rescue organizations in our community.  If you need help, please email us at info@awlfc.org or leave a message on or voicemail: (301) 663-5855.  We will try and help your pet(s) the best we can with what we have.

To donate to our food bank or for our foster kittens and cats please click here:  Items Needed  and Financial Support
More information on these sweet kittens can be found on our Petfinder page.  Please know that we currently are not having meet and greets nor do we have open hours for adoptions.  If you are interested in any of our fosters then please fill out an application for us to review. Adoptions will not take place until it is safe to do so.
