My dear people,

I am really sad to say that last evening I received communication from the Bishops ordering the closure of all Anglican churches across the city. I had hoped that Old St Pancras could remain open as a place of prayer and quiet at this time but it seems that the steep rise in London cases of the Coronavirus makes this impossible.

Last night I locked the church and said a private mass of the Precious Blood praying for all of you and our church family. The Old Testament reading described the experience of Moses and his people in the wilderness and how God found new ways to feed them that they couldn't have imagined before. This current crisis is certainly a wilderness experience for all of us, but God is faithful and will not leave us, even if we have to look for him in new places and in unimagined ways.

It is important to remember that although we are apart we remain together in Christ. If you would like to be part of an Old St Pancras Whatsapp group then email me your mobile number and I will have a go at creating one. If you would you be willing to make a phone call or two to those who live alone then let me know I will try and put you in touch.

I hope you are all keeping well, please do not hesitate to contact me if you need anything at all, you all remain in my prayers. Please be assured that for as long as I am permitted, I will continue to say mass privately in church every morning and hope to live-stream this on Sundays.

With love and every blessing,
Fr James
