Annual Consortium Meeting

The annual meeting of the MBA Research Consortium will take place on Wednesday, June 24, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Eastern time (EST). This will be a virtual meeting. All consortium representatives, please lock those dates on your calendar. An agenda and lots of information will be forthcoming. A vote on a bylaw change and election of two new trustees will be on the agenda.

Board of Trustees Elections

Your MBA Research Board of Trustees is seeking nominees for Board positions that will open July 1. Your Board is currently comprised of six official “elected” Consortium representatives (six state program leaders) and two appointed “external” Trustees. Each term is for three years with two elected positions opening each year. Board elections will take place during the annual meeting of the consortium scheduled for June 24, 2020.

If you are interested in discussing the role and responsibilities of a Board member, please feel free to contact Kevin Reisenauer, current Board Chair, at krieisena@nd.gov, Dana Anderson, Nominating Committee Chair, at dana.anderson@cccs.edu, or Rick Mangini, Interim President/CEO, at manginir@mbaresearch.org.

Current Consortium policy requires elected Trustees to be the official Consortium representative and to meet the following criteria as stated in our bylaws:

Section 4: Qualification of Board of Trustees Members

4.1 To serve as a Trustee, candidates, at the time they assume office, shall have completed not fewer than one full year as a Consortium representative. Further, each candidate shall provide written documentation of not fewer than three years of experience in business administration education, including entrepreneurship, finance, hospitality/tourism, management/administration, and marketing. Said experiences may include, but are not limited to:

  1. marketing or business instruction (e.g., high school, college, private business school, private-sector training),
  2. preparation of marketing or business instructors,
  3. direct supervision or administration of marketing or business instructors,
  4. development of curriculum and instructional materials for business administration instruction, or
  5. other professional Business Administration Education experience deemed appropriate by the nominating committee or Board of Trustees.

TO STAND FOR ELECTION:
(Required) Candidates for election must provide, in advance, a written letter of authorization/support from their immediate supervisors. Said letter must indicate that the supervisor will to the best of his/her abilities, and within parameters established by state policies, support no-cost travel for participation in two Board meetings each year for duration of the term.

(Recommended) Candidates are requested to provide a one- or two-page (duplexed) statement of candidacy. The first section of the statement should be a short resume summary, and the second section a rationale for interest in serving as a Trustee and any specific agenda they will put forth as a Trustee.

Both the supervisor’s letter and statement of candidacy may be emailed to Dana Anderson, Nominating Committee Chair, at dana.anderson@cccs.edu, or Kevin Reisenauer, Board Chair, at kreisena@nd.gov. Candidates should provide the requested materials by May 15, 2020.
